Video is King
Film production and animation:
The marketing turbochargers
Nothing is more compelling than moving images. As a full-service agency, we are well aware of how important films and animations have become in today's marketing. They can attract a great deal of attention and create an emotion-based connection.
But that's just the beginning. Videos really come into their own on social media, where they are especially popular with users – and therefore achieve much greater reach than other formats. They also provide advertisers with a wealth of actionable data, exponentially boosting the impact of social campaigns.
Similarly, film production is often an effective tool for corporate communications, whether for corporate films, statements, animations or live event broadcasts. We at the Ruess Group can provide you with a team of video experts and other specialists for all types of applications, who have already implemented numerous successful film productions for renowned companies.

Short videos on social media: Why are they so incredibly successful?
With posts of text and images, it doesn't matter whether a user barely takes notice of them or scrutinises every detail. The advertiser only finds out that the post was displayed. With short videos, on the other hand, the advertiser finds out how long individual users watched them – 25, 50, 75 or even more than 90 per cent.
This is a key indicator, especially in the first marketing step of attracting attention. It allows you to quickly identify which users have shown greater interest (e.g. anyone who has viewed more than 75 per cent of the video). You can then play further ads to them that are aimed at the next steps: a website visit, an appointment and, finally, a purchase or an order.
If you have rapidly gathered a large group of interested users via a video, you can also use social network algorithms to find so-called ‘lookalikes’, i.e. other users who share key data points with the initial group. This allows you to quickly find a large number of other people who are also likely to be interested in the content of the video.
The best example of the successful interplay of these two factors – greater popularity and better measurement of user interest – is the meteoric rise of the TikTok short-video platform. Within a few hours, the algorithm figures out what most users like and is then able to deliver exactly what they would like to see – and it keeps getting better and better at it.
Other social media platforms, from Instagram to Facebook and YouTube, have also recognised this and are now focusing on short-video content (‘reels’ or ‘shorts’ etc.).
What's more, organic reach building without advertising campaigns on platforms such as Instagram or LinkedIn – where something like this is still possible – is much easier and faster via short video formats (reels, stories) than via classic posts. This is because these formats are often displayed to users who do not yet follow your profile, which rarely happens with classic text-image posts.
Short video clips: what it comes down to
Putting the bare figures aside, video clips can also convey exactly the content that social media users are most interested in when it comes to companies. What do the people who work for the company look like? What is the environment like? How do they express themselves? How do they come across? Regardless of whether you are considering buying a product, booking a service or applying for a job, you want to develop a feeling for these things, and this feeling cannot be conveyed with the same depth through texts and images.
Since the ‘rule of thumb’ for the length of social media videos is that they should be about 30 seconds long, you don't have to plan an exorbitant budget for the shoot. They aren't comparable to TV commercials, for example, which include actors and special effects. On the contrary. Authenticity is often worth much more than polish. Users are mostly interested in being given a realistic impression of companies, people and environments.
Nonetheless, social media videos also follow certain rules. One of these is that the narrative structure of the video fits into a fashionable ‘genre’. This is because it allows users to quickly understand the purpose and message of the video, as it fits with their viewing habits. Given the short time frame, this is essential. Examples of this would be ‘how-to’, ‘behind the scenes’, ‘testimonial videos’, ‘before and after clips’, ‘product presentation’ or ‘brand story’.
With all this in mind, it is important to hire a team that, on the one hand, understands social networks and, on the other, is experienced in shooting ‘social videos’ in order to showcase a great deal of authenticity with relatively little effort and expenditure.

We achieve our clients' goals with product videos, image films and advertising spots
Before planning and producing a video, the following should be clearly defined: What does your company want to achieve with the video? A film clip can contribute to a marketing funnel on various levels. Together, we will define the relevant KPIs to make your success measurable.
A video clip contributes to the following:
- Increasing attention & brand awareness
- Strengthening brand identity and brand credibility
- Increasing reach and reaching potential target groups
- Increasing engagement: likes, shares, comments on social media
- Conveying complex information in an understandable way
- Increasing the conversion rate
Film production: We can create the following clips and videos for you
- Corporate films: With a corporate film, we convey your company's brand identity audio-visually, present products, services and corporate culture. This will help you reach and inform your customers and strengthen your company's image.
- Commercials and product films: A short video presents a product with all its features and benefits to promote it and win over potential customers.
- Instructional videos: These clips show the practical use of a product or service in a typical scenario. They provide customers with instructions for use and information, and convince them of the products or services.
- Statements: Clear messages or opinions on a specific topic or a discussion can be conveyed here. This allows a company to position itself clearly and attract attention.
- Explanatory films: A complex idea, product or concept is presented in a short video in such a way that it is easy to understand and entertaining. Information can be conveyed even more vividly with integrated animations or graphics.
- Trailers: We use these to give a brief preview or to advertise a product or event in order to spark interest.
- Ambient films for trade fairs and events: These short videos run continuously in the background on screens or projection screens to support the mood and message of an exhibition stand. They can convey product applications, corporate values or moods.
- Animations: Ideas, products or stories can be visually presented in a special way using two-dimensional, flat graphics (2D) or three-dimensional, realistic objects.
- Live broadcasts of events: This allows you to interact directly with the audience, get real-time feedback and communicate authentically. The event reaches a significantly larger audience and the video can be shared and viewed again later.
- Recordings of events: This allows you to share impressions of your events, create an archive for future reference and provide material for people who were unable to attend.
- Trade fair and event documentation: We capture important moments and content from the event for follow-up and to use for marketing purposes and reporting.
Creating B2B marketing videos: How companies can achieve their marketing goals
High-quality videos and clips are especially important for companies in the B2B sector to position themselves on the market – for several reasons:
- Complexity of products and services: Films and clips can communicate complex concepts in a clear and appealing way, simplifying communication with customers and leading to faster purchasing decisions.
- Persuasion and building trust: Clips and videos strengthen confidence in a brand, its products and services, and underscore the credibility and professionalism of a company.
- Competitiveness: Competition is intense in the B2B sector. With video clips, companies can stand out from the competition, attract the attention of potential customers and improve their brand image.
- The emotional level: In the B2B sector, companies can use video clips to present solutions for ‘pain points’, needs and challenges, thereby convincing customers on an emotional level.
- The global market: Video sequences can be used to overcome language barriers and reach a broad international audience with visual content.
- Effective training and continuing education: Films are the ideal medium for explaining complex processes and processes to employees, suppliers and partners.
With a high-quality film production, companies in the B2B sector can create a new platform for communication and strengthen their brand image in the long term.
